Dave Barry represents for computer geeks around the world and goes after my beloved '24'. I have to say that I have mixed feelings about this "attack" ;).... on the one hand I probably should feel someone mocked as a technologist myself. In fact I often think to myself while watching shows like 24, "Oh!!!! COME ON!!!...are you kidding me!" On the other hand...when I'm sitting on the edge of my sofa waiting for 24 to come back on having commercial induced withdrawl spasms, I find it easy to forget that stuff while I'm waiting for my next fix.

IF YOU ARE NOT A FAN OF THE TV SHOW "24," DO NOT READ THIS POST

OK, you know Erin Driscoll, the extremely hardass woman who is Jack Bauer's boss and is always wrong but still is apparently in charge of the entire U.S. intelligence system? Does it get on your nerves that every time an alarming plot development occurs -- which of course is every three minutes -- she says something like, "OK, I need the names of everybody in California who has ever had a root canal," and immediately one of the random computer-tappers around her goes "I'm on it" and starts tapping away, and the information pops right up on the screen, and there's never any computer problem, and they never have to install Windows XP Service Pack 2? Well, it gets on our nerves.

Not sure if anyone caught this, but the new Motorola OJO videophone is being used in this seasons installment of 24. In a number of different scenes, the cast can be seen calling each other on these sleek looking videophones.

How I lived without 24 I will never know, but it is evident to me that I am no different then a crackhead in need of a fix. God this show is good.
