2005 Holiday Catalog Collage

Well I do have to apologize for not keeping my 2004 resolution to follow through with a 2004 Holiday Catalog Collage for all ye faithful. Last years collage was a huge hit. But as you all know, life sometimes gets in the way of the best of intentions, thus, no collage this year. But rest assured that while there was no official collage offering, there was no shortage of material.

In fact, in my estimate, we would have surpassed last years total by at least 10 or 15 catalogs. And...judging by the look on the mailmans face, I would have to guess that he would concur.

So, while I won't make any firm resoultions to be back in 2005 with a catalog collage, rest assured that it's on my to do list for next holiday season. So, until then....Happy Holidays!

See it grow!

I've been a little bit lax this week with getting the Holiday Catalog Collage updated, so please accept my most humble apologies. Since I haven't updated in a few days, I figured I'd put all of this weeks take in one entry.

Today's additions come to us from our friends at Pottery Barn (with their second entry in the collage), Brookstone, Brooks Brothers, Tool Crib, Hammacher Schlemmer, Red Envelope and Fortunoff.

Folks...I'm not even sure why I get some of this shit. I never asked for it. It's like a damn disease.

Anyhow, this brings the covetous grand total to 19. THAT'S RIGHT 19 catalogs. You can see it all online right here at the Epicenter.

The catalog watch has been a little slow this week, but fear not...our capitalist friends have bestowed upon me our lastest installment in the The Epicenters Holiday Catalog Collage. So here they are, for your viewing pleasure.

Today's additons come to us from our friends at Williams & Sonoma (with their second entry in the collage), Restoration Hardware, West Elm and Pottery Barn Bed & bath. This brings the covetous grand total to 12. You can see it all right here.

Happy Tuesday everyone. Time for The Epicenters daily (err..almost daily) update of the 2003 Holiday Catalog Counter & Collage. Today's holiday catalogs come to us from BOMC, J.Crew and The Container Store. This brings the grand total to 8. You can see it all right here.

Just a quick update to the Holiday Catalog Counter & Collage. Todays holiday catalog count is 2, bringing the grand total, not including the ones I've thrown out in recent weeks to 5. It's only just beginning folks.

'Tis the season of want in and around our fair city. The tree is going up in Rockefeller Center (you can find a few of my own photos here..more to come), the various outdoor ice rinks are now open for business, Saks Fifth has got their holiday window elves churning out windows full of those overpriced items that you would only buy at Saks (or Barneys or BG, but thats a whole other story).

Ahhh...."tis the season...a quick glance at the calendar this morning reveals that today is November 14th. In and of itself a fairly insignificant day..other then the fact that it's Friday and I took the day off from work...however what it forebodes....well...thats a different story. Thanksgiving is right around the corner and you know what the means. Yes!!!....Shopping fever is in the air. Whip out those credit cards baby, lets make this a prosperous year for all those blood sucking credit card companies and department stores who love to bleed us dry on finance charges...Yeah BABY!!! Daddy needs his stock portfolio to rebound something fierce this year.

So...in tribute to the 2003 holiday season, I have decided to keep a holiday catalog count and collage. Yes...thats right...yours truly will present a weekly photographic tribute to the season of ME ME ME...What are you getting me?. This weeks photo is a tribute to the catalog merchants that we all know and...fucking despise for filling up our mailboxes and inboxes with JUNK MAIL!

Todays holiday catalog count, not including the ones I've thrown out in recent weeks is 3. You can also follow the count total on the right hand side of the page.
