Ever wonder if you are the onle one experiencing those frustrating help desk calls that have you talking to a dimwit in a third world country?

Well, wonder no more. check out IllWillPress's Tech Support flash cartoon...theres plenty of profanity, so turn down the volume a bit if you're at work.

I came across this article on The New Republic Online that discusses the trends in offshore outsourcing of white color IT jobs in the US.

While I'm not a big fan of The New Republic, I must say that there are some very valid points of view on both sides of the argument.

...companies were somehow prevented from shipping jobs offshore, they would likely turn to other methods of reducing labor costs, such as technological upgrades--a process that has resulted in job loss since the birth of capitalism. "It's striking that people have less sympathy if those people are replaced by machines than if they are replaced by foreign workers," says Burtless. "It's all part of the same phenomenon of trying to squeeze value out of the same resources."
